Censorship is tough in a country like Indonesia. But this doesn’t stop local filmmakers to make interesting, bold films. Nia di Nata (Arisan!/The Gathering, Janji Joni/Joni’s Promise, Berbagi Suami/Love For Share) and her independent production company, Kalyana Shira Films, are producing Quickie Express, a dark comedy about the lives of gigolos in Indonesia.
Written by Joko Anwar (Arisan!/The Gathering, Joni’s Promise, Kala) and directed by Dimas Djayadiningrat (Tusuk Jelangkung) whose credibility includes top notch Indonesian TV commercials; Quickie Express will give a different flavor to Indonesian cinemas. Since January 2007 – May 2008 horror and love-themed pics have been dominating around 75% of Indonesian films. Quickie Express plans to offer a breath of fresh air for the locals.
Our hero Jojo (Tora Sudiro of Arisan!) knows that he’s a complete screw up. But he never gives up trying out a new job after being fired from the last one. His good fortune started when he got an offer to work out at male escort service company. To avoid being attacked by Islamic religious groups in Indonesia, the owner of the company runs a pizza delivery service called ‘Quickie Express’ as a cover up.
Jojo begins his adventure in satisfying the sexual needs of lonely wives of rich, high-ranking officials. Jojo gets a better life, he’s financially secured; but his bright career as a gigolo leads him to a more complicated turns than he can ever imagined.
This is a story of the seldom-heard Indonesian dream which resembles the darkest story of Allen Ginsberg and a slice of a stale pizza.

Nia di Nata berkolaborasi dengan Dimas Djayadiningrat dalam film ‘komedi dewasa’ yang berjudul QUICKIE EXPRESS. Nia di Nata selaku produser, menggandeng sutradara berbakat Dimas Djayadiningrat sebagai sutradara, dan penulis skenario ternama Joko Anwar. Quickie Express, film produksi ketujuh dari Kalyana Shira Films, kali ini mengambil genre komedi dewasa diantara ramainya film horror yang menghantui dunia perfilman Indonesia. Pengambilan gambar dimulai pada tanggal 19 Mei 2007 sampai dengan Juni 2007 dengan lokasi di Jakarta dan Puncak.
Jojo (Tora Sudiro), seorang pemuda urban Jakarta, sadar bahwa dirinya bodoh dan tak berarti. Walaupun berkali-kali dipecat dari pekerjannya, Jojo tidak pernah lelah berusaha, sampai akhirnya ia terpuruk menjadi pegawai di tukang tambal ban. Disinilah Jojo bertemu dengan seorang lelaki tua kaya raya yang menawarkannya pekerjaan di perusahaan “layanan escort/pendamping” miliknya. Untuk menghindari serangan protes dari kelompok religius Jakarta, lelaki ini menjalankan bisnisnya dengan kedok pizza delivery service bernama Quickie Express. Jojo bergabung bersama 2 orang teman, Piktor (Lukman Sardi; Berbagi Suami) dan Marley (Aming) yang juga “anak baru” di Quickie Express. Petualangan mereka dalam pekerjaan yang unik ini memberikan gambaran jujur atas kehidupan urban Jakarta yang selama ini banyak ditutup-tutupi.
Film ini selain dibintangi oleh Tora Sudiro, Lukman Sardi dan Aming juga memperkenalkan aktris pendatang baru Sandra Dewi.
